ACSOS 2026
Mon 7 - Fri 11 September 2026 Cesena, Italy

On Wednesday, 9 September, ACSOS 2026 participants will have the opportunity to take part in a guided visit to the Biblioteca Malatestiana, one of Cesena’s most remarkable cultural landmarks. Two visit slots are scheduled: 18:00-19:00 and 19:00-20:00.

Founded under Malatesta Novello and inaugurated in 1454, the Malatestiana is an exceptional example of a Renaissance humanist library. In 2005, the Malatesta Novello Library was inscribed in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register, recognizing the exceptional significance of its documentary heritage.

At the heart of the library is the Aula del Nuti, a basilica-like reading room divided into three naves. Its historic wooden desks still preserve the manuscripts in their original setting, secured by hand-forged iron chains. Today, the Aula del Nuti houses 343 manuscripts and 48 printed volumes, preserving an extraordinary record of humanistic and Christian culture.
