Marco Savi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, System and Communication (DISCo) of University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. In 2016 he received his Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and later he worked for four years at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, a research and innovation center in Trento, Italy. He joined University of Milano-Bicocca as Non-Tenured Assistant Professor in 2020, becoming Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in 2022 and Associate Professor in 2025. His research interests mainly focus on the design and optimization of communication networks and on cloud computing, with focus on SDN, NFV and Edge Computing. Dr. Savi has been involved in various European research projects, also with leadership roles, advancing access and core network technologies through network softwarization. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Elsevier’s Computer Communication and has served as Guest Editor for various journals (e.g. Elsevier’s Computer Networks). He has been a member of the Organizing Committee of various conferences (i.e., ACM CoNext, IEEE NetSoft, ICIN, IEEE SECON, IEEE LANMAN) with various roles (i.e., Tutorial Co-Chair, Workshop Co-Chair, Publication Chair, Publicity Chair, Web Chair) and organizer of various workshops. He is the General Co-Chair of IFIP Networking 2026. He is also a regular TPC member of some conferences such as IEEE NetSoft, IEEE HPSR, and IEEE CSCN. He has published more than 70 papers in well-reputed journals and conferences and has attracted around 850 k€ in competitive fundings.
